Known for his steady demeanor and ability to cultivate trusted, reliable relationships, John-Paul quickly makes meaningful connections for our clients. He understands there are many pathways to influence public policy and that it often starts with relationship-building across the aisle, working collaboratively to get the job done well. John-Paul critically analyzes complex policy issues to identify the most effective path forward, bringing clients along by connecting the dots to solutions in a clear and understandable way.
Drawing from his nearly 20 years of government, campaign and lobbying experience, John-Paul helps clients creatively navigate their public policy challenges at the state Capitol and beyond. As Goff Public’s director of public affairs, he manages the on-the-ground advocacy and lobbying work happening at the Capitol, leading every aspect of a client’s legislative strategy to ensure policy and reputational success.
John-Paul honed his leadership through previous roles as district director and campaign manager for former U.S. Representative Erik Paulsen and by leading public policy for the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce. His deep understanding of the complex human services landscape was informed through his role as a committee administrator for the Minnesota Senate Human Services Reform Finance and Policy Committee.
John-Paul recently completed his 52nd trip to the Boundary Waters and his third Chequamegon 40 mountain bike race. When not paddling or biking, John-Paul is touring local parks with his wife and two sons.
