Katie Lauer

With a diverse career spanning the government, nonprofit and education sectors, Katie has leveraged her innate ability to “read the room” and provide meaningful communications and public relations strategies that drive authentic engagement results. She prioritizes building and sustaining relationships and finding ways to ensure that all voices are heard.

Katie has directed media relations, crisis communications, program management and community engagement work in Minneapolis and across greater Minnesota. She has managed high-stakes reputations, projects and engagement campaigns, all while maintaining a calm, grounded approach. As an intentional listener and quick read, Katie takes pride in executing a thoughtful plan — aligned with intended outcomes — in an efficient, timely fashion.

Prior to joining Goff Public, Katie led communications and outreach work for the City of Minneapolis, including serving as communications director for Mayor Jacob Frey. She has collaborated and partnered within diverse communities, driven strategy for nationally covered topics and issues, and grown audiences and engagement for multiple organizations.

As recent first-time homebuyers, Katie and her partner are enjoying time spent figuring out what to plant in the garden and chasing their very energetic puppy around the yard.
