Our training program for nonprofit leaders
Two-day conference focused on storytelling, media relations, digital strategy and advocacy.
As part of our ongoing commitment to support Minnesota-based nonprofits doing meaningful work in our communities, we are pleased to offer the 2026 Goff Communications and Advocacy Conference. This free, two-day program is designed to equip nonprofit leaders with the communications and advocacy skills needed to amplify their organization’s message and mission.
The program provides an opportunity to learn about advocacy and communications from the experts at Goff, while networking with peers. Leaders learn how to develop effective messaging, identify strong, media-ready stories, be a confident spokesperson, and advance civic and policy goals.
Goff Communications and Advocacy Conference
Led by Goff’s experts — some of the most well-connected and respected professionals in their industries — this program offers 20 nonprofit leaders a chance to learn, grow and connect. In addition to expert training, participants will also benefit from networking with peers and expanding their professional networks. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of how to be a confident spokesperson, develop effective messages, identify media-ready stories, implement digital strategies and advance your organization's civic and policy goals.
Training sessions
Members of the cohort attend two training sessions at our Saint Paul office, focused on the following topics:
- Effective communications and storytelling
- Media relations and crisis communications
- Advocacy
Who should apply?
This program is tailored for leadership-level nonprofit professionals who may serve as their organization’s spokesperson or influence its communications and policy goals. Content is especially valuable for executive directors or senior leaders with responsibilities in communications and/or advocacy. Our goal is to provide accessible training that enables nonprofit leaders to strengthen their skills and expand their capacity.
