Goff Public is proud to receive the 2023 Keystone Honored Company award from the Minneapolis Regional Chamber. This annual award celebrates Minnesota-based organizations making an exceptional impact on their communities through their charitable giving efforts. Small, medium and large businesses are recognized for their leadership in philanthropy, with one honoree selected from each category. Goff Public was distinguished within the small business category on December 7, alongside fellow awardees, Fredrickson & Byron (medium) and US Bank (large).
Goff Public has a four-pillar approach to community investment, starting with our newly evolved pro bono program. Throughout our nearly 60 years, we have given pro bono expertise to local nonprofit organizations and causes. But starting in 2024, we have chosen to adopt a more targeted and strategic approach to our pro bono work, aiming to create the greatest possible impact in our communities.
As a result, we are excited to launch the Goff Public Communications Cohort. After selecting a group of 15 nonprofit leaders, we will host three training sessions throughout the year. These custom, in-person trainings will offer tools and insights related to advocacy, communications, media relations and crisis communications. The collaborative nature of this program will allow attendees to network with fellow leaders.
Outside of our pro bono work, Goff Public fosters a team that is highly engaged in their own communities. We encourage our employees to be actively involved in organizations and causes close to them, whether it be serving on boards and chamber committees, mentoring students, getting involved in local elections, or volunteering for nonprofits. Employees have the freedom to participate in this work during regular business hours.
Goff Public also believes in giving back together. We’ve organized several company-wide volunteer events that have benefited organizations such as the American Lung Association and Ramsey County’s holiday family sponsorship program. Most recently, we laced up our boots to help build a home with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and donned hairnets to prepare meals for the critically ill at Open Arms of Minnesota.
Charitable sponsorships and donations are another important way we contribute to our communities. We frequently sponsor events hosted by nonprofits, such the Citizens League or Catholic Charities, while also setting aside funds in our budget to make donations to organizations like Second Harvest Heartland and Hamline University’s capital campaign.
Goff Public is honored to be recognized with this award and will continue our unwavering dedication to positively impacting Minnesota communities.
