As part of Goff Public’s ongoing commitment to support nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work in our communities, we are launching a new training program in 2024. The Goff Comms Cohort is open to Minnesota-based nonprofits and advocacy organizations who could use our help amplifying and supporting their efforts. Applications are now open! A cohort of 15 nonprofit leaders will be selected to participate in a series of three training sessions in 2024.
The Goff Comms Cohort
Our free training program for nonprofit leaders – The Goff Comms Cohort – will provide an opportunity to learn about advocacy and communications from the experts at Goff while networking with peers. This program will help leaders learn how to develop effective messaging; identify strong, media-ready stories; be a confident spokesperson; and advance civic and policy goals.
Training sessions
Members of the cohort should commit to attending each of the three, three-hour training sessions in 2024. A virtual option is not available.
- Jan. 16, 9 a.m.-noon: Advocacy best practices and Minnesota 2024 legislative session preview
- March 12, 9 a.m.-noon: Effective communications and storytelling
- June 4, 1-4 p.m. (followed by optional happy hour): Media relations and crisis communications strategies and tips
Who should apply?
This training program will be tailored for leadership-level nonprofit professionals that could serve as their organization’s spokesperson or influence its communications or policy platforms. It is open to people in the greater Twin Cities metro and beyond but will be conducted in person at Goff Public in Saint Paul.
The application period for the Goff Comms Cohort has closed. Applicants will be notified by November 17, 2023.
